PHYSICIAN ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY:

We have to be aware of this condition and think of “POPSS syndrome” in differential diagnosis
of all patients with chronic groin, lower abdominal and pelvic pain.

To rule out other common and serious condition before suspecting POPSS syndrome.

To minimize the use of expensive and extensive diagnostic work-up. By obtaining thorough
history and performing detailed physical exam and using seven (7) signs described. In several
of these patients we can totally eliminate any work-up, this helps in significant cost savings.

Reassuring patients that POPSS syndrome is a known entity and they can get help with      appropriate treatments.

Direct patients to appropriate centers who specialize in this condition.
